HUMBLE ABODE
So first things first... I LOVE Christmas! What's not to love? The cosy knits, mince pies, mulled wine, decorations, spending time with family and not to mention the fantastically overplayed Christmas tunes!!!! I mean lets face it who doesn't love a good old sing along to The Pogues? But one of my favourite things to do in the run up to Christmas and the New Year is to spruce up my bedroom with some new bedding and decorations to make it feel even cosier and more welcoming!
I recently bought some new bits and thought I would share it here because even though it's not Pinterest worthy (yet ha) I still love it!
So THESE are what started the bedroom haul. I fell in love with the 'Silver Grey' tones. The smaller diamond quilt cushions match my throw, and the 'Duck Egg' patterned cushions just add some texture. I got all of this from Marks & Spencer as well as a 'Silver Grey' fitted sheet and it cost around £120. Next up I took a trip to IKEA, I got two Large 65cm x 65cm Pillows and then some plain white Pillowcases for them. I wanted these for behind my normal pillows just to add some more fluff and make my bed look like a big cloud of cosiness!
I got this Large Lantern for £22 which is a bargain for how big it actually is. The candle for inside is also huge and cost £8. Another thing I picked up was the strip light behind my TV unit. This was £8 and was one of those impulsive "awk I'll just get it" buys but it actually turned out to be one of my favourites!
Nothing on my dressing table is actually new apart from the Candles. I burn my candles EVERY night especially now that it's Winter. I love my Jo Malone and White Company candles but being that their so nice and more luxurious I like to keep them for special nights. So instead I stock up on the Vanilla scented candles from IKEA that I can burn until the cows come home. The large glass ones last me around 2 weeks and Vanilla is one of my favourite scents!
I was moaning the other day to my mum that I wanted some fairy lights for my room, so I came home from work one day and she had bought me these. How cute? They were £4 from Matalan.
I also picked this up in IKEA. A faux shearling rug which was only £10. I wasn't sure where to put it and in fact I'm still not sure so for the moment it's thrown over my chair which I think actually looks pretty good.
So that's it! I'm constantly buying little things here and there for my bedroom since it is my little sanctuary of Zen, so I might even update this post if I get anything new again! But thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post and come back for more soon! - Shannon

NOVEMBER SKIN
Where has
2016 gone? I can’t believe its November already! The mornings are getting colder, the nights are getting darker, and I feel
in this season it’s more important than ever to look after your skin! I’ve been really trying to get myself into a
skincare routine lately and I FINALLY feel like I’m getting somewhere so I
thought I would share it here!
I’ve
never been one to properly take care of my skin but now I’m older I realise how
important it actually is so I’ve been experimenting with different cleansers
and finding out witch one works best for me.
I have very sensitive, oily skin so it’s hard to find a cleanser that
won’t dry out my skin completely but still dries it out enough so my face doesn't shine like a disco ball after an hour of applying my makeup!

I
ordered the Effaclar 3-Step Anti Blemish System which consists of the Effaclar Purifying Gel Cleanser that reduces excess sebum and leaves skin feeling clean
and fresh. The Effaclar Clarifying Toner which helps to reduce the appearance of
pores, and the Effaclar Duo+ Anti-blemish Cream which is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of
blemishes and unclog pores and it also helps to reduce the appearance of red
and brown marks. I also ordered the Effaclar MAT Cream which can be used as
a primer and helps to limit
the appearance of pores and shine by reducing excess sebum.
I ordered mine from FeelUnique.com but you
can also grab this brand in Boots and other online stores! The 3-Step System cost £33 and the Effaclar
MAT Cream cost £14.50. I have been using
mine for 3 days morning and night and I can already see a difference in the way
my skin feels and looks! My overall skin tone
is much better and any bumps I had have went down massively. I’m 100% going to keep this up and see what
the results are like in 4 weeks’ time, so stay tuned & thanks for reading!

HAUL
Hey ya’ll! Over the
past months or so I’ve had some lovely little treats, some I’ve bought myself
and some were given to me as gifts so I thought I’d do a little
haul for you with all the details and my own personal
reviews. So without any further delays
let’s get going…
So these are the “Celine Shadow
Flat Top Sunglasses” with the brown gradient lens and the Havana frame. I had my eye on these sunnies for a while,
but as usual when I finally decided to buy them they were no longer in stock
anywhere and had a 2 month waiting list. So after many hours of trolling online I
finally found them on the online boutique GranOptic. I done my research on this website and it
sounded very trustworthy plus they were retailing for a little cheaper than I
had intended on spending so it was a win-win! These can retail from £240 to £220, I paid
just around the £226 mark. They arrived promptly, the
speed of delivery was great - around 2 days and since I’m the most impatient person on the
planet this was perfect for me! I would
100% recommend GranOptic and whenever I’m on the hunt for some sunglasses they
are without doubt the first place I will check!
They came with the signature black Celine soft case, the little
cleaning cloth and they also had the white Celine purchase bag. Overall I’ve not had these on as much I’d
like however that’s more down to rainy Scottish weather than anything else, so
hopefully come my winter holiday I will definitely be getting my wear out of these bad boys!
This was another one that I had my eye on for a while… Once again it had been coming in and out of
stock and then when I thought all hope was lost is appeared on the Saint
Laurent website! I ordered it
immediately. I’m really loving the tiny
bag phase at the moment and that is precisely why I fell in love with this
bag. I love the fringe detail and I also
loved that it doesn’t have any harsh in your face logo on it either, just a
tiny subtle “Ysl” charm. I really loved
the Soft Ochre colour also but I ultimately went with black as black is
timeless. This bag retails for £335
which is exactly what I paid for it, however the delivery time is a big longer
I think it was around a week. It comes
in the classic black Saint Laurent box and dust bag with the authentication
letter and labels. Don’t get me wrong
this bag is tiny, it fits my iPhone 6, a lip-gloss, some money and not much
else… but I love it! I’ve worn it so
many times since I got it and I can’t wait to wear it more!
Ok so this was not a planned purchase at all. It’s rare for me not to think a purchase
through thoroughly… thinking when will I wear it, what will I wear it with and
is it worth the money? Saying that… when
a sale hits all logic goes out the window.
I got the notification about the Net-a-Porter Sale and I instantly went
on to troll through my wish list and check if anything I had put in there was
down in price and it just so happened that these were so I ordered them without
any hesitation. Word of warning though,
make sure you check the size chart as I ordered a size 36 since I’m usually a UK 3 then
checked the chart and it said I was a 37.
A quick phone call to the Customer Service department and the lovely
lady was more than helpful and changed my order within a matter of
seconds! Delivery was very quick and you
can’t ever fault New-A-Porter packaging (it’s
my fave but shhhhh!!!) These
retailed for around £430 and went down to £215 which is what I paid however a
few weeks later they went down again to £172… typical!!! They come with the Isabel Marant box and the
individual dust bags. The heel height is
ideal as it’s not too high however I’ve not yet had the chance to wear these on
a night out so that might change! But
overall I’m happy with this purchase and can’t wait to wear them out!
Now… THIS!!!!!!!!
This… is my shining glory! This
was bought for me by my very generous boyfriend for my birthday and I can
safely say it has not left my side since.
As we walked around Harvey Nichols, I stumbled across the Stella
McCartney concession and I was instantly drawn to this bag. I tried on a few different sizes but
ultimately I choose the MINI as it’s the perfect all round size, wither it’s a
casual lunch or on a big night out it is the perfect size for everything and
you’d be surprised how much fits in this baby!
I can fit my full purse, iPhone 6, keys, perfume, sunglasses and most of
my makeup. This bag retails for £550 and
it comes with the beautiful nude Stella McCartney dust bag. I’ve been wearing this bag nonstop and I’m so
happy I decided to go for this colour and size, Silver goes with everything and
I love that I can wear it cross body, in my hand or in the crook of my arm!
So that’s all about my latest treats. I hope you enjoyed my reviews & they help you out if your deciding to buy anything similar. I have tagged all items so you can have a look at them on the sites just click on the heading and it will take you straight there! All feedback and questions are welcomed! Thanks for reading!
